Cove

 The Cove
Come to The Cove - a warm, inviting, casual coffeehouse filled with comfortable couches, chairs, tables and a group of friends who came together to explore some of life’s most perplexing questions in an electric atmosphere, completely void of judgment and criticism.

Each Sunday morning at 9:30am, an extraordinary Bible teacher will open up God’s Word in a way you’ve never seen before.  With honest candor and a ruthless adherence to the text, the Word will be revealed and you will see the world of the Bible in a way that makes you feel you are right there.  The Bible will come alive like never before!

Our desire at The Cove is to have an environment where we could go deep in the study and dialogue about God’s Word as it relates to our lives and our world.  Biblical illiteracy is at an all-time high.  People are far more interested in being educated in the things of the world than they are in the things of God.  As a result, we’re seeing more and more people who know how to make a living but not a life… people with good jobs but bad marriages… people with great cars but no peace… people with cash but no character… people who have financial security but no eternal security.  God has called us to step up and provide a God-education at The Cove that will provide a deep foundational understanding of God and His Word.

 Bethel @ The Cove

Bethel Seminary and The Church at Rancho Bernardo (CRB) are partnering to make the pursuit of a seminary education easier and more affordable. Staff and members of CRB are eligible for a scholarship set annually at approximately 30% of the price of 8 credits of tuition. For the 2010-2011 academic year, the scholarship will be equal to $840/quarter ($3,360/year). To be eligible, enrollment must be maintained at two 4-credit courses per quarter. In addition, applicants may qualify for a need-based Bethel grant.

As a world-class evangelical seminary with locations in St. Paul, San Diego, and the Eastern Seaboard, as well as a model distance learning program, Bethel Seminary offers nine master of arts degrees, a master of divinity degree, a doctor of ministry degree, five graduate-level certificates, and a post-graduate certificate. Accreditors have praised the seminary’s approach to developing whole and holy Christian leaders through three-part emphases on biblical/theological foundations, transformational leadership, and spiritual and personal formation.

This class will survey the last nine books of the New Testament. These sometimes neglected volumes cover the breadth and depth of early Christianity-from the brilliantly argued letter to the Hebrews, to the practical counsel of James to turn our words into actions, to the amazing visions and mysteries of the Revelation, bringing the Bible to its glorious consumption.  Registration is August 1-31, 2010  (Course reference #NT503)

Acts and the Pauline Letters (Dr. Mark Strauss)
Thursdays, 7:15-10:00pm, January 6-March 24, 2011
Offered via live, interactive satellite feed directly from Bethel’s San Diego campus to The Cove.
This class will survey God's amazing work in the most exciting time in human history-the establishment of the church in Acts and its explosive growth as Jesus' followers take the message of salvation from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. We will "walk through" the journeys and letters of Paul-the great missionary, church planter, theologian, and author of 13 of our New Testament books. Registration is November 8-December 12, 2010 (Course Reference #NT502)
Christian Lives in History (Dr. Jim Smith)
Mondays, 7:15-10:00pm, March 28 - June 6, 2011
Offered via live, interactive satellite feed directly from Bethel’s San Diego campus to The Cove.
A "big picture" view of Christian faith across the centuries, with heroes and pilgrams, reflections and stories "new and old"     (Matt 13:52) offering rich insights for our lives today.  Utilizing several varieties of literature, selected men and women within their historical contexts will be valued both as insightful mentors and as unique persons in need of God's grace and human community.  Students will be invited to reflect on their own spiritual journeys and vocations. Registration is February 1-28, 2011 (Course Reference #HS650)
