Biblical Order: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah

Chronological Order: Obadiah, Joel, Jonah, Amos, Hosea, Isaiah, Micah, Zephaniah, Nahum, Jeremiah and Lamentations, Habakkuk

Takeaway:
Even when Israel, and we are unfaithful, God is faithful. His Plan of Redemption is continually set before us as a reminder that He is trustworthy regardless of our sin, failures and shortcomings.

Study/Discussion Questions:

  1. What are the central themes of the Pre-Exilic Prophets? What did you learn from this teaching about God, the Prophets and the Children of Israel?

  2. Why does the Biblical Order differ from the Chronological Order of these books? How does looking at the Chronological Order help us better understand God’s Word?

  3. Do you have a favorite Prophet in the Bible?Who is it and why?

  4. What is the difference between Indictment and Judgment? Are we still indicted today? Why or why not? Are we still judged today? Why or why not?

  5. What in this teaching challenged or encouraged you as a Christ-follower?
